Twilight Circus is the dub and reggae project of multi-instrumentalist Ryan Moore, former bassist and drummer of the Legendary Pink Dots. Twilight Circus is becoming increasingly popular and well known for Moore's work with artists such as Big Youth, Michael Rose of Black Uhuru and Ranking Joe. He originally started off producing dub albums, before recording vocalists for inclusion on his critically acclaimed Foundation Rockers album. Valley Of The Dub On his debut as a solo artist, former Legendary Pink Dot Ryan Moore telegraphed his intentions clearly: having studied the art form since his teens, he was going to single-handedly recreate the sound and feel of classic 1970s dub reggae. The sound he achieves on his first album is derivative, of course, but in a good way on. Foundation Rockers - Twilight Circus Dub Sound System. Twilight Circus. In Dub Vol. 1 CD, Album, Blu. M Records. It's sparse vintage analog dub with a nice heady psych feel that really sucks you in. This album definitely has a positive, chill vibe to it. It's got nice flow, rhythm, and effects. The melodies are pretty simple, but they are also memorable. My only gripe with this album is its brevity. A little under 36 minutes is not enough Fortunately, Moore has created several other albums that follow nicely behind this one. I recommend Other Worlds of Dub. In Dub, Vol. Your Rating. Reviews of the Twilight Circus Dub Sound System - In Dub Vol. 1 (1):
melody of you
This is, quite simply, a gem of an album. Almost all of this album's instrumentation was done by one guy (Ryan Moore), and a few "mystery guests" (whom I suspect are the Legendary Pink Dots).

A little under 36 minutes is not enough! Fortunately, Moore has created several other albums that follow nicely behind this one. (I recommend "Other Worlds of Dub".) This is almost a 'desert island' album, for it's general feel and deceptive simplicity and replayability. Even if it doesn't make the list due to brevity, it's still an excellent introduction to the world of Dub. Highly recommended.
