Album

The Move. Looking On. Язык: Русский. Страна: Россия. Looking On is the third album by The Move, released in the UK in December 1970. The LP is their first to feature Jeff Lynne, their first containing entirely original compositions, and the first on the Fly label, its catalogue number being FLY 1. It includes both their 1970 singles, the Top 10 hit Brontosaurus, released on Regal Zonophone in March, and the less successful When Alice Comes Back To The Farm, released on Fly in October. Songs in album The Move - Looking On 1970. The Move - Looking On. The Move - Turkish Tram Conductor Blues. The Move - When Alice Comes Back To The Farm. The Move - Open Up Said The World At The Door. The Move - Brontosaurus. The Move - Feel Too Good. The Move - Lightnin' Never Strikes Twice. The Move - Looking On Part 1 Take 3: Rough Mix - Previously Unreleased Version. The Move - Looking On Part 2 Take 12: Rough Mix - Previo. The Move's second album, 1970's Shazam, continued the Move's practice of musical quotation, and of elaborately re-arranged versions of other performer's songs. Hello Susie a Wood composition, which was a Top 5 hit for Amen Corner in 1969, quoted Booker T. Jones' and Eddie Floyd's Big Bird, and the album included a cover of a Tom Paxton song, The Last Thing on My Mind. As a result, by the time Looking On was released in December 1970, with five songs composed by Wood and two by Lynne, Fly Records had lost interest in it. Proto-metal rocker Brontosaurus is the standout, but elsewhere prog-rock stodge like What dominates. Probably their weakest album, finding the group trying to blend progressive elements with lumpy hard rock boogie on obscure, extended tracks. The songs do look forward to the Electric Light Orchestra, for good or ill, in the helium-like high harmonies and the wide palette of instruments. Most of the multi-instrumentation is provided by Roy Wood, who picks up oboe, sitar, slide guitar, cello, and saxophone in addition to his usual guitar chores. Looking On is a music album by The Move released in 1970. Looking On is ranked 28,922nd in the overall chart, 3,324th in the 1970s, and 334th in the year 1970.
