Put em away for awhile, re-listen two weeks later. Change the situation. Ronnie is well-known as one of the founding members of The Small Faces and The Faces. His solo output is consistently good, the Slim Chance recordings a late-night, rousing and old-timey affair, usually combining mandolin, harmonica, acoustic for a solid roots rock sound. One For The Road seems to be the moment where it fell together best. There are memorable tunes set a dynamic paces, some starting off at barely audible levels. Every number is damn near anthemic the way they build. Complete sua coleção de Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance. One For The Road. Steppin' An' Reelin' The Wedding. Harvest Home. Nobody's Listenin'. My wish has been granted, not only did i find a copy of One for the road, but i found a new printing of it on heavy a wonderful thing it is too. It is refreshing to hear songs like 32nd street, don't try'n' change my mind, steppin' and reelin' the wedding, nobody's listenin' and g'morning. A heart-tugging riff from Slim Chance's Give Me a Penny shows up three years later on Annie from Rough Mix, another fine collaboration between Lane and Townshend. If you're going to get Slim Chance and you should, pick the version that leads off with The Poacher. Helped by Gallagher and Lyle, the song and its exquisite orchestration captures the spirit of the English countryside

Reviews of the Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance - One For The Road (2):
Opimath
Album sounds thin, lifeless and digitally sourced. Mine has playback issues as well. I’m bummed as I’d waited a long time for these reissues. Buyer beware.
Der Bat
my copy has a lot of bother noise, my 43 years old copy is much better
