Glenn Miller and His Orchestra was an American swing dance band formed by Glenn Miller in 1938. Arranged around a clarinet and tenor saxophone playing melody, and three other saxophones playing harmony, the band became the most popular and commercially successful dance orchestra of the Swing era and one of the greatest singles charting acts of the 20th century. Here are some swinging instrumental tunes from Glenn Miller and his Band broadcast live over the NBC radio network from the Glen Island Casino NY and the Meadowbrook Ballroom NJ. However, true Glenn Miller fans should consider this remarkable reissue to be essential it's all here. 1937 Glenn organized his own touring band and signed to Brunswick records. 1938 The group was unsuccessful, and was disbanded. 1939 The Orchestra played at the Glen Island Casino, NY, a major swing venue, and was heard on radio. 17 Top 10 hits including Sunrise Serenade Moonlight Serenade Wishing Will Make It So.
