The Creative Technology Institute. Chris and Cosey. by Dan Goldstein, Chris Heath. Formerly one half of Throbbing Gristle, Chris and Cosey have since leapt to the forefront of Britain's avant garde electronic music scene. We then made a second album on cassette called Trance, but Rough Trade liked it so much they decided to put it out as a record as well. Both Heartbeat and Trance are examples of well-crafted, swirling industrial collages, though the music they contain is generally more accessible than the majority of TG's output in the band's final years. Both Chris and Cosey have been involved in artistic projects outside the field of music for some while

Reviews of the Chris And Cosey / The Creative Technology Institute - Trance (6):
Despite the name, this has nothing to do with Trance as commonly understood (synth arpeggios, 140 bpm beat etc.). So, no, it's not one of the first trance albums. It does sound a little bit ahead of its time. "Impulse" has a tough electro beat similar to what b-boys would be making a year later, but faster. You could probably play it next to some Advent or other late 90's electro and get away with it. "The Gates of Ancient Cities" is another highlight and my favorite, sounding like a techno primitive version of something on 4AD. The only other track I find worthwhile is "Cowboys In Cuba" that puts together a moody bassline and a heavy, stomping mid-paced beat with the noises (media overload, nuclear war, distress) that populate most of the record.
this record is incredibly ahead of its time. BUY IT IF U SEE IT
Most popular for being one of the first trance albums
You can tell this isn't trance music because it's good.
Funny duck
haha and Orbital's eponymous album is most popularly a handy drivers guide to the famous concrete bit of traffic organisation.
...Just like "20 Jazz Funk Greats" is such amazing jazz-funk.
