Bob Marley and the Wailers BMW was a Jamaican reggae band 1974-1981 lead by Rastafarian Bob Marley 1945-1981 when Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer left the old band, The Wailers. BMW, consisted of Marley himself as song writer and lead singer, 6-7 regular musicians in Wailers Band and the I Threes backup female vocalists. It is the most prosperous reggae band ever with 75 million record sales, known for songs like One Love, I Shot The Sheriff, Natural Mystic. Stir It Up, No Woman No Cry, Exodus and Get Up Stand Up. Soul Revolution, Pt. Originally issued only in Jamaica, this Lee PerryBob Marley-produced early-'70s album saw the Wailers continue their move from their ska and rocksteady roots to a more sparely produced form of early reggae, also moving toward more spiritual concerns and aspirations toward peaceful brotherhood in their lyrics. SOUL REVOLUTION is the follow up to The Wailers first release outside of Jamaica, SOUL REBEL, and showed the tremendous growth of the band. Many of the songs on this wonderful album would become some of their most beloved hits on other albums, in particular those of Marley. This album was only released in Jamaica as it seems that Lee Perry and The Wailers were fine tuning their skills for what was about to come. This in no way diminishes the impact of the album to me, the songs are still very powerful and lyrical masterpieces and the vocals are exceptionally strong. Soul Revolution is an album by The Wailers. It was produced by Lee Scratch Perry and The Wailers. There has been some confusion as to whether the proper name for this original LP, which included vocals by Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, and Peter Tosh should be Soul Revolution or Soul Revolution Part II. The original cover of this album had a turquoise background with dark blue text at the top which read: UPSETTER RECORDS PRESENT SOUL REVOLUTION PART II BOB MARLEY and the WAILERS. It also had a color octagonal-shaped photo in the middle, surrounded by six color square-shaped photos which overlapped slightly with each other. More albums from Bob Marley feat. The Wailers.
